Here's a storyboard I did that's part of a promotional peice The Jacky Winter Group are doing. I've posted the different stages so you can see how it all comes together.
First I draw a thumbnail. This is to see if I'm on the right track. I try to keep it pretty fluid and loose, drawing it in about 2 minutes.
Once I get the go ahead I make a rough drawing. It's important to maintain the energy of the thumbnail while still adding in the details.
Then when I get the 'two thumbs up' I proceed to the finished stage. It's important when tracing to drop the opacity right down to 4% or 6% so that the linework isn't clouded by the rough. Then I colour using either two or three layers.
Ta-da! Pretty cool hey.
